The white sands and Emerald coasts of Destin trace back to the
seventh century A.D. Besides the American Indians living here and
surviving off the major staple of fish, Leonard Destin, who in 1845
along with some of descendants fished and navigated the channel passage
to the Gulf of Mexico between Panama City and Pensacola, known now
as Destin's East Pass. In 1984, Destin officially incorporated and
is now a fully functional municipality. Now known to many as
"The worlds luckiest fishing village", visitors are discovering Destin's
friendly atmosphere, supreme dining along with beautiful coasts and
wonderful fishing. A ride down highway 98 in Destin brings you
close to over 20 Golf courses and a large shopping outlet mall as
well as other shopping and recreation facilities. The Gulf of Mexico
and its many activities make Destin a leading tourist destination to
relax and enjoy.....
